The reactive power controller RGT-MT18 SVC is designed to reduce reactive power (both inductive and capacitive) that is not being utilized by the load and is drawn from the grid. If inductive power is being drawn from the grid, it responds by activating a capacitor with the appropriate value. If capacitive power is being drawn from the grid, it responds by activating a series reactor with the appropriate value. This way, it aims to decrease the active and reactive power factors of the system.
It is designed to provide more meaningful compensation in unbalanced inductive and capacitive systems.
It is suitable for use in compensation systems for renewable energy power plants, such as photovoltaic power plants.
